Integrated Marketing for Retail & EC

Integrated Marketing for
Retail & E-commerce

Where people learn about a product has moved to short video, while where they buy has split between the shop floor and your own store. Building the awareness that connects the two, the measurement that counts purchases, and repeat purchase over LINE is all in our scope.

  • Google (SEO)
  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • LINE

Issues

Three things that actually get stuck in retail and e-commerce marketing

01

On the shelf, and nobody knows you

Discovery has moved to short video, and the investment split is still carved up between mass advertising and paid media.

The fixPOV video of arrival, unboxing and use, plus SEO articles, build a way in where people find you.

02

Video and purchases don't connect

Without measurement running through, all you can judge on is views. You end up explaining yourself with no basis for the next budget.

The fixPixel, CAPI, UTMs and GA4 get it to a state where anyone, from anywhere, can be traced to a purchase.

03

Nowhere to connect with people who bought

Without buyers' contact details, telling them about the next product starts by paying for advertising all over again.

The fixLINE messaging split between buyers, non-buyers and cart abandoners builds a route back.

Process

From analysis to improvement: how it actually runs in retail and e-commerce

Workflow

Overall design through awareness work, measurement, LINE and improvement, taken on by us without a break

Illustration of assessment and overall design, mapping the full customer journey

Phase01

Assessment and overall design
  • Taking stock of the revenue mix
  • KGI and KPI design
  • The annual budget split

We look at the split across the shop floor, your own store and marketplaces, and choose what to grow.

We ask about your lead products and margins, the share of revenue from e-commerce and the breakdown of marketing spend. Once we know where it narrows, we set the KGI, KPIs and annual split.

Phase02

Running the awareness work
  • Producing and posting POV video
  • SEO and owned media
  • Landing page production

We build several points of contact that don't look like advertising, on different messages.

The moments a product gets used become first-person vertical video. We also produce the landing pages that advertising and search land on, with the copy connected throughout.

Phase03

Building the conversion measurement layer
  • Pixel and CAPI
  • UTM design
  • Dashboards

We get it to a state where 'which programme sold it' has an answer in numbers.

The pixel and Conversions API go on your own store and the UTM conventions get aligned. What can't be measured is drawn up front, along with what we watch instead.

Illustration of nurturing design, developing leads through LINE scenarios

Phase04

Nurturing design
  • LINE scenario design
  • Segmented and step messaging
  • Building up the customer data

Buyers and the undecided get reached without ad spend.

Buyers get how to use it and the next product; non-buyers get answers to what held them back. For multi-site groups, the sequences sit with head office.

Phase05

Analysis and improvement
  • Monthly reporting
  • A fast test cycle
  • Budget reallocation

Budget moves to the winning line, and the approval papers get their evidence.

Save rate, tap-through rate and purchases per video get laid side by side, and budget moves to the message that is working. Reporting separates the awareness metrics from the purchase metrics.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked by retailers and e-commerce businesses

Stores and e-commerce sit in different departments here. Can you take both?

We can. We put store visits and online purchases in the same funnel, and put which post and which ad drove which revenue into one report. Starting with one side only is fine.

Other than follower count, what should the KPIs be?

Save rate and average watch time, profile visit rate, then taps to the shop and purchases, stage by stage. Honestly, follower count explains none of that sequence. Awareness and purchase metrics get laid out separately.

We sell cosmetics and food. How far do you check pharmaceutical and advertising law?

Not just the caption text. Text inside images and on-screen video text, thumbnails, pinned comments and the landing page behind the link are all in scope. Where efficacy claims stop gets agreed with your legal and regulatory people at the first meeting.

We already use an ad agency. Can you take just part of it?

Just part is fine. Keeping ad management with your existing agency and carving out video production and managed social is common. So is the reverse: only designing the measurement layer and building LINE.

Do you have results or examples in retail and e-commerce?

Our social media results in retail and e-commerce are on Social media management for retail and e-commerce. How integrated marketing runs we talk through with examples from comparable products when we meet.

We have too many SKUs to keep up with filming.

The first thing to drop is the assumption that everything gets filmed. We concentrate shoot days on your top sellers by revenue and the products you want to grow, and cut several videos out of a single day. With POV and nobody on camera, the volume doesn't wait on casting either.
