Inbound Solution for Hair Salons & Beauty

Inbound Marketing for
Hair & Beauty Salons

Two hours in a Japanese salon is part of the trip for an inbound visitor. Managed multilingual accounts and a foreign-language booking path carry them all the way to a booking they can make without hesitating.

Issues

Three things that actually get stuck on inbound marketing for salons

Illustration of dockets and paperwork piled high on a salon reception counter

01

Nobody knows how many came

Walk-ins and referrals leave no record. What can't be counted gets neither a budget nor a next move.

The fixWe put a record of how people heard about you and a foreign-language booking link in place first, so it becomes countable.

02

Translated, but not how people search

Chinese speakers use RED (Xiaohongshu), English speakers Instagram. The places they look and the words they search differ, so a direct translation reaches nobody.

The fixWe narrow to one or two target countries and rewrite titles and hashtags the way people there actually search.

03

Booking is Japanese-only, so they give up

Prices and durations can't be read, and the booking page is Japanese only. Interest arrives, then disappears at the last step.

The fixWe put the menu in other languages and a foreign-language booking link in place, so prices and durations can be read.

Process

From choosing the target country to running the multilingual accounts: how it actually runs at a salon

Workflow

From agreeing the objective through multilingual operations and repurposing into ads, handled as one piece of work

Illustration of aligning on objectives: defining the outcome and the target countries

Phase01

Aligning on objectives
  • The days and hours you want filled
  • The languages and chairs you have
  • Priority between target countries

It starts with which slots, filled by guests from which country.

We ask about the nationalities of the inbound guests you get, your location, the hotels around you, weekday and weekend gaps, and the languages you can handle. From there we narrow the markets to go after.

Phase02

Audience research
  • How salons get found, country by country
  • What comparable salons nearby are doing

We work out who, from which country, is looking for a salon and where.

RED (Xiaohongshu) for Chinese speakers, Instagram and TikTok for English speakers. Where they look differs, so we work out the actual search terms used there, one by one.

Phase03

Choosing platforms and building the booking path
  • The foreign-language booking path
  • Multilingual menu and consultation form
  • Recording how people heard about you

Before any posting, we put the side that receives the booking in order.

A foreign-language booking link, the menu and prices in other languages, an explanation of how the visit runs and a consultation sheet. Once those are in place, we start recording how people heard about you.

Phase04

Filming at the salon and producing multilingual content
  • Filmed in the gaps in trading
  • Native translation and voiceover
  • Rebuilt per market

We film material that doesn't depend on words, then rebuild it for each market.

One operator traces the hands at work, filming twelve videos in two hours in the gaps in trading. Translation, voiceover and subtitles are ours.

Phase05

Going live, scaling, and monthly reporting
  • Running multilingual accounts
  • KOC and KOL partnerships
  • Repurposing winners into ads

We count the people who came, and widen whatever worked.

Running the multilingual official accounts and the KOC/KOL campaigns happens in parallel. Monthly reporting is built on bookings in other languages and the mix of customer nationalities.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked by salons

What about the consultation on the day? Won't we be cutting hair without a shared language?

We prepare a consultation sheet in English and Chinese where everything is a choice: a photo of the finished look, length and colour, allergies. On the day, all that's left is confirming it.

Can we take foreign-language bookings on the booking system we already use?

You can. Where the system can't handle something, we fill the gap with a foreign-language booking form or a dedicated link. We don't propose on the basis of replacing it.

How do we confirm inbound guests are actually coming?

We record 'how did you hear about us' on the client card at the visit, and keep a separate booking link for each platform. Look at the nationality and language mix monthly and it becomes clear.

They're all one-off visits and nobody returns. Is it still worth doing?

It is. 54.5% of travellers on their fifth visit or later use a Japanese beauty salon (Hot Pepper Beauty Academy, 2026). The return visit happens on the next trip to Japan.

Do you have inbound results with hair salons?

We show examples and the process from close industries when we meet. The results with numbers behind them are collected on the Social media management for salons page.

Are there things to watch on stealth marketing rules or claims about results?

Both need care. Where KOCs and KOLs are engaged we require the advertising or PR relationship to be disclosed, and the labelling rules go into the contract. Claims about results are checked against pharmaceutical and advertising law.
