Inbound Solution for Sports & Entertainment Venues

Inbound Social Marketing for
Sports & Entertainment Venues

An inbound visitor's itinerary is largely settled before they land in Japan. Managed multilingual accounts and KOC campaigns get it to a state where attendance and ticket sales can be counted.

Issues

For sports and entertainment venues, inbound marketing: three things that actually get stuck

Illustration of a stadium with many empty seats

01

The itinerary is set before arrival

Most destinations are decided before departure. A venue whose name doesn't appear at the planning stage never enters the running.

The fixWe split video that gets searched for the experience, not the venue name, between English-language platforms and RED.

02

They can't find where to buy

Without measurement on the multilingual guidance and the ticketing page, you can't even tell whether someone who watched the video reached a purchase.

The fixMeasurement tags on the multilingual guidance and the ticketing page get it to a state where purchases can be traced.

03

Translated, and it still doesn't travel

Hashtags of the venue name or the district aren't searched overseas. Translated posts flow past with the reach still stuck in Japan.

The fixWe put native translation and subtitles on first-person video and cast Japan-based and local KOCs as well.

Process

From choosing the target country to running the multilingual accounts: how it actually runs at a venue

Workflow

From agreeing the objective through multilingual operations and repurposing into ads, all taken on by us

Illustration of aligning on objectives: defining the outcome and the target countries

Phase01

Aligning on objectives
  • The dates and seat categories you want filled
  • Where your overseas share stands now
  • Priority between target countries

It starts with which dates, filled by travellers from which country.

We ask about the overseas share of your attendance, when attendance drops, and the price by seat category. What the inbound work goes after gets decided at this stage.

Phase02

Audience research
  • How itineraries get built, by country
  • Researching competing experiences

We identify who, from which country, decides where to go, and where.

Social media leads the sources for China; video sites for Taiwan, Hong Kong, the US and Australia (Japan Tourism Agency, 2025). The target markets and platforms follow from that.

Phase03

Choosing platforms and building the ticket path
  • A role for each platform
  • Multilingual guidance pages
  • Tracking tags

Before any posting, we put the path to purchase in order.

We set each platform's role and install measurement tags on the multilingual ticket guidance and sales pages. Dedicated coupon codes get issued here too.

Phase04

Filming at the venue and producing multilingual content
  • Batch filming that never stops operations
  • Native translation and voiceover
  • Rebuilt per market

Filmed when the operations team has time, then rebuilt per market.

Before doors, or inside the venue on a weekday: one operator traces the visitor route at times that don't stop operations. Translation, voiceover and subtitles go on afterwards.

Phase05

Going live, scaling, and monthly reporting
  • Official account management
  • KOC and KOL partnerships
  • Repurposing winners into ads

Videos that grew get widened into the target countries through advertising and PR.

Multilingual operations and KOC/KOL campaigns run in parallel. Monthly reporting covers arrivals at the sales page, advance purchases, and the share of purchases from overseas.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked by sports and entertainment venues

People only come on matchdays and performance dates. When do you film?

Filming sits where the operations team has time: before doors, around a fixture, or inside the venue on a weekday. With nobody on camera, one operator is enough and the day itself never stops.

Can we run multilingual accounts without staff who speak English or Chinese?

It runs without difficulty. Concepts, translation, voiceover, subtitles and comment handling sit with our native-speaker team, and you can share material in Japanese.

Do we need to run RED (Xiaohongshu) as well?

It depends on the country. Going after mainland China, it is unavoidable. If Taiwan, Hong Kong, the US and Australia are the core, YouTube and TikTok are where the weight goes.

Can you measure whether it led to attendance or a ticket purchase?

We get it measurable before we start. Views aren't the KPI; measurement tags on the multilingual guidance and sales pages give us arrivals at the sales page and purchases and attendance.

We already have a Japanese official account. Does it have to be rebuilt?

It doesn't. We can start by translating and recutting existing material. Honestly, a straight translation won't travel, so the concepts and hashtags do get rebuilt around how people search.

Can footage from during a match or performance be used, rights-wise?

Filming and posting rules differ by governing body and promoter. We confirm which framework you sit under first, then build from the visit experience and the venue, where the constraints are lighter.
