SNS Account Management for Sports & Entertainment

Social Media Management for
Sport & Entertainment

Fans don't only turn up on matchday. We run the official accounts for clubs, governing bodies, entertainment venues and personal brands, filming the hours away from the game through the eyes of the players and performers.

Issues

Four places where social media actually stalls in sport and entertainment

Illustration of a stadium with many empty seats and only a scattering of spectators

01

It never gets beyond existing fans

Post nothing but results and press shots and it is a notice to people already supporting you.

The fixWe film training, travel and community events through the players' eyes and meet people who don't know the sport on TikTok.

Illustration of a ticket booth, with young people looking at their phones some distance away

02

It doesn't connect to the sales path

Without measurement on the paths to ticket sales and membership, whether to continue comes down to instinct.

The fixWe measure taps through to the sales page and report them alongside the share of reach that is new and time spent.

03

It stops when the person responsible changes

Communications is a small team, often doing it alongside another role. The moment the person changes, neither the formats nor the historical numbers carry over.

The fixWe hold the formats and the numbers, and leave them monthly in a form you can put in a board paper.

04

You can't hire operations staff

Most of the job is sponsor liaison and running the venue, and the hours are the inverse of everyone else's. None of that appears on a job posting, so people leave once they arrive.

The fixWe film the operations view too, from set-up to load-out, and use the same video in the job ads.

Reilac Shiga FC

Organic only, with no advertising

The everyday outside the match and the stage is where people become fans.
Building that way in every week is what managed social media is.

Process

From account design to posting and analysis, Sport and entertainment, step by step

Workflow

Design, concept, filming, editing, posting and analysis, supported throughout and timed to the season

Illustration of account strategy: designing KGIs, KPIs and the funnel

Phase01

Account strategy
  • Confirming the revenue mix
  • The filming and posting framework
  • Platform and funnel design

It starts with attendance or material for sponsors.

We ask about the revenue split, the fixtures or performances you want to fill, and the peaks of the season. Once the league or agency rules are confirmed, the scope of the content gets fixed.

Illustration of the planning phase: building out storyboards and scripts

Phase02

Planning and scripting
  • Linked to the annual calendar
  • Designing the first three seconds
  • Storyboards beat by beat

We put the season's fixture list down first, then lay it out.

Once the order is set around the opening, the derby, the final fixture and the off-season, the training and travel subjects get worked up into storyboards.

Illustration of the filming phase: shooting POV footage with an Insta360

Phase03

Filming
  • Filming that's just wearing a camera
  • POV filming (Insta360)
  • Equipment loan and training

Material collects without taking a minute off training.

Our crew can come to you, or we lend the equipment for the press officer or the players to wear. Away trips and individual training all become material.

Illustration of the editing phase: producing captions and thumbnails

Phase04

Editing
  • Cuts of 0.8 to 1.8 seconds
  • Captions and sound design
  • The club's review process

Finished at a pace people watch, with one review before publication.

We finish at a pace built around completion and save rates. Spectators appearing and sponsor signage get sorted out at the edit.

Illustration of the analysis phase: reading post data and iterating

Phase05

Posting and analysis
  • Early-signal read (12–48 hours)
  • Rules for handling comments
  • Monthly reporting

We widen what grew and translate it into the language of sales.

We judge on the first 12 to 48 hours and carry whatever angle grew into the next post. Abuse gets a first response against an agreed standard, and monthly reporting leads with share that is new and taps through.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked in sport and entertainment

We only have one person in communications. How much can you take?

Concept, filming, editing, posting, comment handling and monthly reporting, the lot. What we ask of your person is arranging the shoot days and reviewing before publication. The formats and the historical numbers stay with us too.

Can you film without burdening the players? Training time is limited.

All we ask of a player is wearing a compact 360 camera on their chest or helmet. Training, travel and community events become material exactly as they are. The camera is lent by us.

We already have official club accounts. Do they need rebuilding?

They don't. We use the accounts as they are and start by changing what gets posted and how much. Having an official account is no longer a differentiator; the question is what you film.

Can you look after individual players' and performers' accounts too?

We can, on the condition that the governance is agreed first. Whether the account sits with the individual, the agency or jointly goes into a document, and the league's rules and the standard for what does and doesn't get a reply to criticism go into the operating rules.

If followers grow, does attendance grow?

Honestly, we have found no primary research showing a causal link between follower count and attendance or revenue. What we can promise is putting taps through to the sales page, saves and time spent into a form usable for sponsorship pitches and internal explanation.

Do you have results in sport and entertainment?

We do. For Reilac Shiga FC we handled everything from filming home games and open training to posting, and over the engagement attendance rose by 1,500 and social followers by 5,000. We also run first-person vlogs for talent and personal brands. In the same industry we also handle influencer PR and inbound support, so see those service pages for how each runs.
