Integrated Marketing for Rail, Bus & Transport Operators

Integrated Marketing for
Rail, Bus & Transport Operators

Line-side tourism sits with the planning department, social with PR, the app with a separate company, advertising with an agency. We design one path from before the ride to after getting off, and run it as a single company.

  • Line-side tourism site and SEO
  • Social accounts
  • Paid social
  • LINE and your own app
  • Measurement (GA4, UTM)

Why Integrated Marketing

4 benefits of integrated marketing for rail, bus and transport operators

  • Illustration of concentric ripples spreading and overlapping from social posts and ad placements

    Merit 01

    Combined impact

    Your line's appeal, consistent everywhere

When planning, social media, the app and ads run separately, the message and metrics for the same line drift apart. Settle on one message for the line, and the scenery people see in videos links to the name of your special ticket.

  • Illustration of drawing the whole funnel from awareness to purchase on a whiteboard

    Merit 02

    Landing purchases

From scenery on screen to a ticket purchase

A video of the line may draw people in, but if they can't find the special ticket page, they just enjoy the view. Link the entry point and sales page in one flow, and the reason to ride becomes a ticket on the spot.

  • Illustration of a dotted line from a video watched on a phone to an excursion ticket sales page that breaks off, with the sales chart left blank

    Merit 03

    Clear paths

    Explain non-commuter growth by effort

If monthly ridership is the only metric, you can't tell whether the line's campaign or the ads made the difference. Follow the path through to sales, and you can build next year's budget on numbers.

  • Illustration of an official account screen showing nothing but service updates, with the scenery along the line set small outside it

    Merit 04

    Repeat visits

Send riders their next trip on the line

Visitors come back to the line about six months later. If the app only sends service alerts, they have no reason to think of you in between. Stay connected on LINE and the app, and you can send them the next special ticket.

Why TripClear

Four reasons rail, bus and transport operators choose TripClear for integrated marketing

  • Illustration of icons for strategy, planning, filming, posting and analysis on a single loop around a vertical phone

    Reason 01

    Designed end to end

One team, from before boarding to after the ride

We split the audience into stages, from people who don't know the line to returning riders, and set the gaps to fill and the order of investment. Work once commissioned department by department shares one message, with TripClear overseeing it all.

  • Illustration of one path running from an ad on a phone to a landing page, a chat screen and a checked goal, with measurement icons

    Reason 02

    Past the click

Capture counter sales with dedicated codes

We add tags and UTMs to the line's website and sales pages, and compare visits and sales by source on the same yardstick. Tickets sold at the counter are counted too, using dedicated codes.

  • Illustration of a phone chat with a coupon and notification, circled by an arrow carrying a shopping bag, calendar, shop entrance and heart

    Reason 03

    Repeats included

Stay connected on LINE and the app after the ride

Pre-ride guides, onboard coupons and post-ride invitations for next time are built into one scenario. Everything runs under your company's name, so the settings and data stay with you.

  • Illustration of a glowing chip fanning out into a grid of ad banners and vertical video cards, with one starred as the winner

    Reason 04

    AI-powered

Refine line campaigns fast with AI

We read the line's website articles and social media response together with AI, and expand with ads from the ideas that got riders moving. POV videos are an option where people discover you.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked by rail, bus and transport operators

Our work is split across several departments and contractors. Can you take all of it?

Through a single point of contact, yes. SEO and updates for the line-side site, social media management, advertising, and LINE design and messaging are all handled by the same team. We don't outsource the video either; we film it ourselves, including POV from the station to the destination. For details, see POV video for rail, bus and transport operators.

What do you set as KPIs?

The final measures are excursion tickets sold, non-commuter passenger numbers and use of facilities along the line. Before those sit sales page arrivals by traffic source and purchases from LINE and the app, designed as layers. How it is measured is decided before work starts.

Whose name do the LINE official account and the tools sit under?

Everything is in your name. The LINE official account and tools like L Step and Liny are contracted by you. The follower data and the messaging configuration stay with you, which is what makes it easy to hand over.

We have our own app. Do we need LINE as well?

Often you don't need both. If app members can receive information about the line, we use the app as the landing layer and only set up measurement and the paths. If the app is limited to service updates, we add LINE for messaging about the line.

We're under contract with an existing agency and production company. Can you run in parallel?

You can. The usual approach is a parallel period of around three months timed to the contract renewal, so you can compare on the same metrics. For work that can't stop, we build the handover plan first.

Can you look after the group's attractions and hotels as well?

We can. Putting facilities along the line and transport on the same path makes it easier to create a reason to ride. We start by drawing up an organisation chart and agreeing in writing who commissions the work and who may use which materials.
