Social Media Management for
Rail, Bus & Transport Operators

The reason to ride lies not in the route but in the destination. We take official accounts stuck on service updates and rebuild them, working back from destinations along the line.

Why SNS

4 benefits of social media for rail, bus and transport operators

  • Illustration of an official account screen showing nothing but service updates, with the scenery along the line set small outside it

    Merit 01

    New reach

Give people who don't know your line a reason to get off

Notices about delays, cancellations and timetable changes are for people who already ride. Vertical videos in recommendation feeds show people who don't know your line what lies beyond the station.

  • Illustration of a dotted line from a video watched on a phone to an excursion ticket sales page that breaks off, with the sales chart left blank

    Merit 02

    Clear results

Trace the numbers through to special tickets

Without tracking on sightseeing train and special ticket pages, you can't tell how many sold. Connect social links to page tracking, and you can follow the path from video to sale.

  • Illustration of buses lined up in a depot with empty driver's seats, and a timetable with more and more blank slots

    Merit 03

    Helps with hiring

Show the driving job before people apply

How many services you can run depends on how many crew you have, yet job ads never show the reality of the work. With videos from the driver's seat on your account, people on the fence see what the job involves.

  • Illustration of a barrier blocking a camera held up inside a carriage, beside a stack of filming permit applications

    Merit 04

    Less in-house work

Hand off the shoot, arrangements and all

Stations and trains come with strict permission and safety rules, and passengers must stay out of frame. Hand off everything from permits to filming, and you can keep posting without recycling old photos.

Why TripClear

Four reasons rail, bus and transport operators choose TripClear for social media

  • Illustration of a first-person video on a vertical phone with a long playback bar, a save icon and a search bar

    Reason 01

    3.8×

More saves, more branded search, longer viewing

POV that follows a rider from the ticket gate to the destination holds viewers for 30 to 40 seconds a play and gets saved 3.8 times as often as regular videos. Timetables and fares go on the linked page.

    POV Studio

  • Illustration of icons for strategy, planning, filming, posting and analysis on a single loop around a vertical phone

    Reason 02

    Fully handled

    One-stop management

We learn which lines and times you want to grow beyond commuters and which special tickets you want to sell, then assign each platform a role. With tracking on sales pages, we report visits, page reach and tickets sold every month.

  • Illustration of a studio where a person wearing a chest-mounted first-person camera is flanked by a director at a monitor and an editor in headphones

    Reason 03

    Japan's first

    A professional POV team

As Japan's first official Insta360 partner, we cover the approved stations, trains and line in a single day, filming the crew's point of view the same day. At the first meeting we list what can be filmed and who handles permits.

    POV Studio

  • Illustration of play, heart and save icons rising from a row of vertical phones, with a growth curve behind and a sprout at their feet

    Reason 04

    10M+views/month

An organic track record that speaks for itself

We have grown 15+ accounts without spending on ads. We check where viewers drop off and the completion rate of every video, and extend the stops that land well into the next plans.

POV is another way to shoot

We use footage of trains and the places along the line too, but when you want to hand viewers the passenger's own view, POV is an option. Here is one example: the ticket gate to the destination platform in 30 seconds.

Process

From checking what can be filmed, through filming along the line, to sales page reporting: how it runs

Workflow

From checking what can be filmed through posting, analysis and improvement, supported throughout by the same team

Illustration of account strategy: designing KGIs, KPIs and the funnel

Phase01

Account design, and listing what can be filmed

The routes to grow and what can be filmed are decided first.

Illustration of the planning phase: building out storyboards and scripts

Phase02

Concept plan and scripts for the line

Scenes that give a reason to get off, laid out by season and day of the week.

Illustration of the filming phase: shooting POV footage with an Insta360

Phase03

Batch filming where permission is given

We follow the passenger's route and film in batches.

Illustration of the editing phase: producing captions and thumbnails

Phase04

Editing, and the pre-publication review

Finished at a pace that keeps the window view flowing.

Illustration of the analysis phase: reading post data and iterating

Phase05

Posting, analysis and improvement, and sales page reporting

What grew gets extended along the line, and we look back on the sales numbers.

The platform mix for transport operators, and what we watch on each

TikTokdiscovery Meeting people who don't know the line's name, through the destination

What we watchAverage watch time, full-view rate, profile visits

InstagramReels and feed Each station's reason to get off, kept in a form people save

What we watchSaves, profile visits, link clicks

YouTubecomparison and trust A day on a sightseeing train or how to get around the line, at greater length

What we watchRetention rate, subscriptions, branded search

Official site and excursion ticket sales pages The landing layer. Sales pages and measurement in place to take the purchase

What we watchArrivals at the sales page, tickets sold, referrers

LINE and your own app Pushing events along the line and digital tickets out to people

What we watchLINE friends, purchases from messages, block rate

The set-up is only an example. Where an account for the area along the line already exists, we sometimes start by rebuilding it.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked by rail, bus and transport operators

How much of the filming in stations and on board can you handle?

We draw the line on scope at the first meeting. Following your filming policy, we list five points, no-film areas, safety constraints, likeness, music and industry rules, and secure the application contact and lead times before building the plan.

How is pricing decided?

Social media management and POV video production come as a single plan, from JPY 300,000 a month. We no longer offer plans priced by the number of videos. Pricing moves with the number of videos and the ideas behind them, so we quote individually once we know how often you want to film and what the concepts are. Secondary use is allowed, and recommendations for linking with ads are included. There is no charge for filming equipment (as an official Insta360 partner, we lend it). If ads are run, media spend is charged separately at cost.

Which company runs this service?

TripClear Inc., based in Shinsen-cho, Shibuya, Tokyo. Our core is social media management and vertical short-form video production, and we support rail, bus and transport operators. For the company profile, see TEAM.

Should it be kept separate from the official account that posts service updates?

Separating them is the default. People waiting for service updates and people looking for somewhere to go along the line are different audiences. We recommend keeping the existing official account purely for information and starting a new tourism account that shows the experience along the line.

Our riders are mostly commuters, and it isn't a tourist line. Is there still a point?

There is. Every commuter line has stations worth getting off at on a day off. The plan centres on showing places to eat, parks and events along the line in first person, to grow non-commuter use at weekends.

Won't every shoot mean stopping operations?

Operations don't stop. With POV, the operator gets on and off along the same route as passengers, so there is no need for talent, lighting or sets, and we can film on trains and routes in normal service. All we ask of crews is to know the filming date.

We already run an account ourselves. Can you take it over?

We can. We keep your current account and start by changing what gets posted and how often. If any past posts took off, we build concepts from that angle.

How long until we see results?

Three months, as a guide. Across our management work in general, the first month finds the angle on the line that works, and arrivals at the sales page start to move from the second month.
