Why POV

4 benefits of POV video for auto repair shops and car workshops

  • Illustration of cars driving past a roadside garage, with a blank phone screen

    Merit 01

    Longer viewing

The hands and the sound show the job

A photo of the finished car does not show what work went into it. Film the hands raising the lift and the sound of the impact wrench, and the job gets through even to people who never read a caption.

  • Illustration of one mechanic in front of two empty lifts, with a blank notice on the wall

    Merit 02

    Helps with hiring

Show a mechanic's day before anyone applies

The feel of the workshop and how the senior mechanics work never make it into a job ad. Film from the mechanic's view on the same shoot day as your marketing video, and people thinking of applying see the work itself.

  • Illustration of a person walking while filming in first person with a compact camera on their chest

    Merit 03

    No performers

Show the skill without showing faces

Plenty of mechanics would rather stay off camera. Only the hands, the tools and the car are on screen, so the skill comes across without faces, and the footage goes straight onto stock pages and into ads.

  • Illustration of a mechanic in dirty gloves by a lift, with an unused tripod, a phone and a clock

    Merit 04

    Plenty of videos

Plenty of videos without stopping work

On a fully booked day there is no time to stop for filming. Shoot the usual work in first person as it happens, and one day in the workshop becomes a whole batch of videos.

Why TripClear

Four reasons auto repair shops and car workshops choose TripClear for POV video

  • Illustration of a studio where a person wearing a chest-mounted first-person camera is flanked by a director at a monitor and an editor in headphones

    Reason 01

    Japan's first

    A professional POV team

We are the first social media marketing company in Japan to become an official Insta360 partner. A small camera on the mechanic's chest or head records the hands and the sound of the tools just as they are.

  • Illustration of play, heart and save icons rising from a row of vertical phones, with a growth curve behind and a sprout at their feet

    Reason 02

    10M+views/month

An organic track record that speaks for itself

We learned which videos grow by running accounts without relying on ads. A video that performs well can go straight onto used-car stock pages and into ads.

  • Illustration of cards showing the scenes to feature, connected by arrows to a vertical video frame

    Reason 03

    Sharp angles

    Hands-on insight across industries

We start by writing out a day of work at your shop and picking the jobs that the hands and the sound can carry. This is also where we decide whether to lead with inspections, tyre changes or custom work.

  • Illustration of icons for strategy, planning, filming, posting and analysis on a single loop around a vertical phone

    Reason 04

    Fully handled

From filming to reuse, all in one place

8 to 10 videos from a 6-hour day. We film on a quieter day and make enough to cover the busy inspection season. A video shot from the worker's view can also be used to recruit mechanics.

FAQ

Questions we often hear from auto repair shops and car workshops

Won't filming during work hold up the workshop?

We film without stopping anything. A small camera on the mechanic's chest or head records the usual work in first person. Nobody waits on the shoot, and we schedule it for a quieter day.

Won't customers' cars or number plates end up on camera?

We only film customers' cars when the owner has agreed in advance. Number plates are kept out of frame or blurred before posting, and any shot showing personal details such as work orders or registration papers is cut.

We post photos of cars but get no response. Will video change that?

A photo of the finished car rarely shows what work was done. Show the job from lift to finish through the hands and the sound, and viewers get drawn in partway and watch to the end.

Should we lead with custom work, or with inspections and repairs?

We decide at the first meeting, once we know your main sources of revenue and the work you want more of. One option is to catch car lovers' eyes with custom work and take inspection and repair enquiries through your profile and LINE.

Can we show our used-car stock on video too?

Yes. Film the engine starting and the state of the underside in first person, and buyers see what photos cannot show. With a video on the stock page, people can check the car's condition before they enquire.

Can this help us recruit mechanics?

Yes. On the same shoot day as your marketing video, we film from arrival to the work itself through the worker's eyes, and the footage can go on your job page and recruitment social accounts. If you want us to bring in applicants too, see Performance-based recruitment marketing for auto repair shops and car workshops.

How is pricing decided?

Social media management and POV video production come as a single plan, from JPY 300,000 a month. Pricing moves with the number of videos and the ideas behind them, so we quote individually once we know how often you want to film and what the concepts are. Secondary use is allowed, and recommendations for linking with ads are included. There is no charge for filming equipment (as an official Insta360 partner, we lend it). If ads are run, media spend is charged separately at cost.

Which company runs this service?

TripClear Inc. (Shinsen-cho, Shibuya, Tokyo). Our core business is social media management and vertical short-form video production, and we support auto repair shops and car workshops. For company details, see TEAM.

Do you have case studies or a track record with auto repair shops and car workshops?

Yes. The results section on this page introduces our work with auto repair shops and car workshops. Our track record across other industries is collected in Works.
